Jewish Wedding Band in the Netherlands: Hora, Klezmer and More
Other languages: Türkçe · Nederlands · עברית
ErmanArt Music is a Jewish wedding band for couples in the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany. We have 20 years of experience and hundreds of weddings behind us, Jewish weddings among them, and we know the music, the dances and the customs that make a Jewish wedding: the Hora, Klezmer from the Eastern European Ashkenazi tradition, the Sher, the Mitzvah Tantz, Sephardic music and Freylekhs.
We played hundreds of weddings in Turkey before moving our work to the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany in 2023. Behind ErmanArt is pianist and accordionist Erman Turkeli, who trained at Istanbul University State Conservatory and graduated in jazz piano from HKU Utrecht Conservatorium. You can watch videos from our weddings on the ErmanArt page.
Live music for every part of your wedding
Everything your wedding needs musically, from one team:
- Live band wedding music: the heart of the celebration, played and sung live on stage.
- Acoustic welcome and cocktail music: violin, guitar, accordion and similar instruments while your guests arrive.
- Brass band or drum show: a burst of energy for an entrance or for the high point of the night.
- DJ performance: music that sets the mood before the band starts.
- Piano recital: solo piano for the ceremony or the dinner.
- Violin and guitar duo: intimate acoustic music for the quieter moments.
- Sound system: professional sound, so every song and every word is heard clearly.
- Lighting: stage and dance-floor lighting that matches the mood of the evening.
- Photography and video: photos and film to keep the memories of your day.
Our repertoire: Hora, Klezmer, Sher and today's hits
A Jewish wedding moves between tradition and today's music, and so does our setlist:
- Hora (Horah): the circle dance that brings everyone onto the floor.
- Klezmer: the instrumental tradition of Eastern European Ashkenazi Jewry.
- Eastern European Ashkenazi music beyond Klezmer.
- Sher: the traditional Ashkenazi set dance.
- Mitzvah Tantz.
- Sephardic music.
- Freylekhs: lively, joyful dance tunes.
- 90s and 2000s pop, and new pop hits for the rest of the night.
We build the setlist with you
Every family has its own songs and its own customs, which is why we put the setlist together with you:
- Songs you would rather not hear come off the setlist.
- Special requests are rehearsed in advance and played live on your wedding night.
- If the bride or groom wants to sing on stage, we plan that moment together.
- If you prefer fully instrumental live music, without vocals, we play the evening that way.
How the evening goes
We follow your schedule. At most weddings the evening runs like this:
- Welcome and cocktails: acoustic music while your guests arrive, if you would like it.
- DJ: before the live music starts, while the guests come into the venue, we play DJ background music. You can put this playlist together yourselves or leave it entirely to us.
- Live band: the band takes the stage, and the Hora and the dancing begin.
